Radiology
The Radiology Department is operated under the supervision of a radiologist
who is a physician that has specialized in the field of Radiology.
Our technical staff consists of professionally trained technologists
who are certified and licensed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and
the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
We offer a variety of services including X-ray, Ultrasound, Computerized
Tomography (CAT Scan), Nuclear Medicine, and Mammography. Radiology
procedures are one of the most valuable aids to your doctor in diagnosing
your illness. All procedures are performed at the request of your physician
with the results being reported to the requesting physician. Each modality
provides the physician detailed images and information to better aid
him/her in diagnosing and caring for their patient.
Our Radiology Department also has the CPSI
ImageLink® PACS (picture archiving
and communication system) as well as the Konica
Minolta Regius® CR
system (computerized radiography). PACS has enabled us to move into
the “digital” era and better serve our patients in a more
timely and efficient manner resulting in digital “soft copy” images
which offer the health care enterprise a more complete electronic medical
record that provides clinicians with secure and immediate access to
diagnostic images when and where they need them, including the patient’s
nursing unit.
In August 2010, Pineville Community Hospital is proud to announce the addition of a new MRI experience, the all-new-high-field MAGNETOM ESSENZA. It has a strong magnet for detailed images, so your healthcare providers can make a more confident diagnosis. Its short magnet design means many exams can be done with your head outside of the magnet. And exclusive technology allows for faster exams.
